Our Church

Are you looking for a safe community where you are invited to think for yourself, and share the growing edges of your experience?

Are you looking for a place to seriously explore and deepen your practice and life of meditation, contemplation, and prayer?

Would you like a spiritual community without metaphysics in which you don't have to check your mind at the door, and accept things you really don't believe?

Would you like to freely explore the intersections of science, spirituality, and religious insights from many sources?

Are you interested in energy healing as a form of contemplative prayer that complements and does not conflict with the best of medical science?

Are you called to live the love of God in reconciling action in the world?

Point of Vision is a community living these commitments. Founded as Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church in 1957, we reorganized as Point of Vision in 1999 under the leadership of Dr Harry Capps with the invitation, “Take me down into the quiet center of my being to find my true self in the dark waters of Ultimate Mystery. Let the Light of your Spirit bring me into greater consciousness that I can journey in the way of insight and understanding with compassion for all.”

Dr John Biersdorf became pastor in 2003, continuing our mission of contemplative prayer and energy healing expressed in worship; opportunities for study and growth in contemplative practice; and ministry action in the wider community.
In 2010 we moved to our present home in Peace Lutheran Church at 17029 Thirteen Mile Road between Greenfield and Southfield Road in Southfield, Michigan.
